فطرت نے جو لکھے ہیں وہ کتبے پڑھا کرو
مہنگی ہیں گر کتابیں تو چہرے پڑھا کرو
بکھرے ہوئے ہیں سینکڑوں مضمون جابجا
سڑکوں سے چُن کے کاغذی ٹکڑے پڑھا کرو
لفظوں میں بھی حروف نظر آئیں گے تمہیں
اوراقِ گل پہ شبنمی قطرے پڑھا کرو
بیکار کیوں ہو شہر کی سڑکوں پہ بیٹھ کر
ہاتھوں پہ قسمتوں کے نوشتے پڑھا کرو
تعریف کو ہی لوگ خوشامد کہیں تو پھر
خود اپنی شان میں ہی قصیدے پڑھا کرو
چبھتی ہے گر شعاعوں کی تحریر آنکھ میں
ساجدؔ کتابِ خاک کے ذرے پڑھا کرو

fitrat ney jo likhay hain woh kunbay parha karo
mehngi hain gir kitaaben to chehray parha karo
bikhare hue hain senkron mazmoon ja baja
sarkon se chuun ke kaghazi tukre parha karo
lafzon mein bhi huroof nazar ayen ge tumhe
ourak Gul pay shabnami qatray parha karo
bekar kyun ho shehar ki sarkon pay baith kar
hathon pay kismaton ke noshte parha karo
tareef ko hi log khoshamad kahin to phir
khud apni shaan mein hi qaseede parha karo
chubhti hai gir shu-aon ki tehreer aankh mein
Sajid ktabِ khaak ke zarray parha karo

उन किताबों को पढ़ें जिन्हें प्रकृति ने लिखा है
किताबें महंगी हैं, इसलिए चेहरे पढ़े
सैकड़ों लेख बिखरे पड़े हैं
सड़कों से उठाए गए कागज के टुकड़े पढ़ें
आपको शब्दों में अक्षर भी दिखाई देंगे
फूलों की पंखुड़ियों पर ओस की बूंदों को पढ़ें
क्यों बेकार हो शहर की सड़कों पर
भाग्य के शास्त्रों को अपने हाथों में पढ़ें
लोग तारीफ करते हैं तो तारीफ
अपनी ही महिमा में भजन सुनाओ
गिरने वाली किरणों का लेखन आँख में चिपक जाता है
साजिदत-ए-किताब-ए-खाक पढ़ें

Read the books that nature has written
Books are expensive, so read the faces
Hundreds of articles are scattered
Read pieces of paper picked from the streets
You will also see letters in words
Read dewdrops on flower petals
Why be useless sitting on the streets of the city
Read the scriptures of destiny in your hands
If people compliment the compliment then
Recite hymns in your own glory
The writing of the falling rays sticks in the eye
Prostrate and read the book of dust
