نہ کچھ عالم سمجھتے ہیں نہ کچھ جاہل سمجھتے ہیں
محبت کی حقیقت کو بس اہل دل سمجھتے ہیں
نشان منزل مقصود پا کر بھی نہ جو ٹھہرے
اسی رہرو کو ہم آسودہ منزل سمجھتے ہیں
ترے صحرا نوردوں کا مذاق جستجو توبہ
غبار راہ کو یہ پردہ محمل سمجھتے ہیں
تمہیں سے ہے یہ نور شمع اور یہ سوز پروانہ
تمہیں کو اہل محفل رونق محفل سمجھتے ہیں
نہ دنیا باعث غفلت نہ عقبیٰ وجہ ہشیاری
رہے جو تجھ سے غافل ہم اسے غافل سمجھتے ہیں
یہاں تو قابل افسوس ہیں دشواریاں ان کی
تمہاری راہ میں مشکل کو جو مشکل سمجھتے ہیں
انہیں کو تیرے تیر نیم کش کا لطف آتا ہے
نہ سینے کو جو سینہ اور نہ دل کو دل سمجھتے ہیں
گل مقصود سے پھر کیوں اسے وہ بھر نہیں دیتے
مرے دامن کو جب وہ کاسہ سائل سمجھتے ہیں
کوئی سمجھے نہ سمجھے اس حقیقت کو مگر نجمیؔ
ہم اپنے درد دل کو عشق کا حاصل سمجھتے ہیں

nishaan manzil maqsood pa kar bhi nah jo thehray
isi رہرو ko hum aasooda manzil samajte hain
tre sehraa nordon ka mazaq justojoo tauba
gubhar raah ko yeh parda mhml samajte hain
tumhe se hai yeh noor shama aur yeh soaz parwana
tumhe ko ahal mehfl ronaqe mehfl samajte hain
nah duniya baais ghaflat nah uqbi wajah hushiyari
rahay jo tujh se ghaafil hum usay ghaafil samajte hain
yahan to qabil afsos hain dushwariyan un ki
tumhari raah mein mushkil ko jo mushkil samajte hain


कुछ विद्वान नहीं समझते हैं, कुछ अज्ञानी नहीं समझते हैं
केवल दिल के लोग ही प्यार की सच्चाई को समझते हैं
मंजिल तक पहुंचने के बाद भी नहीं
इसे हम एक आरामदायक गंतव्य मानते हैं
रेगिस्तान नाविकों की मस्ती, पश्चाताप की खोज
इन घूंघट को धूल माना जाता है
आपसे यह मोमबत्ती और यह जलती हुई तितली है
पार्टी के लोग आपको एक समृद्ध पार्टी मानते हैं
न तो दुनिया में लापरवाही होती है और न ही सावधानी
जो लोग आप के उत्तराधिकारी हैं, हम इसे हीडलेस मानते हैं
यहाँ, उनकी कठिनाइयाँ दुविधापूर्ण हैं
जो आपके रास्ते में कठिनाई को मुश्किल पाते हैं
वे आपके तीर-कमान का आनंद लेते हैं
न तो छाती और न ही दिल को समझने वाला दिल
गुल मकसूद फिर वे इसे क्यों नहीं भरते
मरे दमन जब वे उन्हें एक भिखारी मानते हैं
इस बात को नज्मी के अलावा कोई नहीं समझता
हम अपने दिल के दर्द को प्यार की उपज मानते हैं

Some scholars do not understand, some do not understand ignorant
Only the people of heart understand the truth of love
Not even after reaching the destination
This is what we consider a comfortable destination
The fun of the desert sailors, the search for repentance
These veils are considered to be dust
From you is this candle and this burning butterfly
The people of the party consider you a prosperous party
Neither the world causes negligence nor caution
Those who are heedless of you, we consider it heedless
Here, their difficulties are deplorable
Those who find difficulty in your path difficult
They enjoy your arrowhead
Neither the chest nor the heart that understands the heart
Gul Maqsood then why don't they fill it
Murray Daman when they consider him a beggar
No one understands this fact except Najmi
We consider our heartache to be the product of love
