اُن پہ واجب ہیں دو بول محبت کے مگر
حَسین لوگ ہیں خیرات کہاں دیتے ہیں
وہ اگر مل بھی کہیں جائیں ہمیں رستے میں
اَبر بھی پھر کہاں برسات ہمیں دیتے ہیں
باتوں باتوں میں جو سورج کو کیا ہم نے غروب
چل دیے اٹھ کر بھلا رات کہاں دیتے ہیں
میں جو لکھتا ہوں غزل خط میں صرف اُن کیلئے
سامنے قاصد کے وہ خط کو جلا دیتے ہیں
اُس کے لہجے سے قاصد بھی اب تو ڈرتا ہے
ہم بھی خاموش ہیں بس اُن کو دعا دیتے ہیں
ہم جو سہمے ہوئے پاس اُن کے کبھی جاتے ہیں
آنکھوں آنکھوں میں ہمیں خوف دکھا دیتے ہیں
جو کہا ہم نے کہ اب پیار دیجیے ہم کو
مہینوں روٹھ کر وہ ہم کو سزا دیتے ہیں
اُن کے آنے سے چٹختی ہیں یہ ساری کلیاں
پھول کو چھو کر وہ خوشبو کو بڑھا دیتے ہیں
آؤ شہزاد یہاں غزل کو تمام کریں
بخیل لوگ ہیں یہ داد کہاں دیتے ہیں

Hussain log hain khairaat kahan dete hain
woh agar mil bhi kahin jayen hamein raste mein
aَbr bhi phir kahan barsaat hamein dete hain
baton baton mein jo Sooraj ko kya hum ne ghuroob
chal diye uth kar bhala raat kahan dete hain
mein jo likhta hon ghazal khat mein sirf unn ke liye
samnay qasid ke woh khat ko jala dete hain
uss ke lehjey se qasid bhi ab to darta hai
hum bhi khamosh hain bas unn ko dua dete hain
hum jo shme hue paas unn ke kabhi jatay hain
aankhon aankhon mein hamein khauf dikha dete hain
वे प्यार के दो शब्द कहने के लिए बाध्य हैं
हुसैन लोग हैं जहां वे दान देते हैं
मिलने पर भी वे रास्ते से कहीं चले जाएंगे
बादलों ने हमें और कहाँ बारिश दी?
सूरज के लिए किया था कि हम सब में, हम सेट करें
वे उठने के बाद रात कहाँ बिताते हैं?
मैं ग़ज़ल पत्र में जो लिखता हूँ वह केवल उनके लिए है
वे दूत के सामने पत्र जलाते हैं
यहां तक कि संदेशवाहक भी अब उसके सुर से डरता है
हम भी चुप हैं, बस उनके लिए प्रार्थना करते हैं
हम उन लोगों के पास कभी नहीं जाते जो भयभीत हैं
आँख से आँख मिलाना हमें डराता है
हमने कहा अब हमें प्यार दो
वे हमें महीनों सजा देते हैं
इन सभी कलियों को उनके आने से क्रैक किया जाता है
फूल को छूने से वे सुगंध बढ़ाते हैं
चलिए यहाँ ग़ज़ल खत्म करते हैं शहजाद
वे कंजूस लोग हैं
They are obliged to say two words of love
Hussein people are where they give charity
Even if they meet, they will go somewhere along the way
Where else do the clouds give us rain?
In all that we did to the sun, we set
Where do they spend the night after getting up?
What I write in ghazal letter is only for them
They burn the letter in front of the messenger
Even the messenger is now afraid of his tone
We are silent too, just pray for them
We never go to those who are frightened
Eye to eye scares us
We said now give us love
They punish us for months
All these buds are cracked by their coming
By touching the flower, they increase the fragrance
Let's finish the ghazal here, Shahzad
